Brooklyn's Carl Banks dropped by to cut our 129th Direct-To-Vinyl Office Session. For his session, we cruised through 2 takes each of 10 different songs for a grand total of 20 cuts. Carl is a master lyricist. From songs about John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry to the St Louis Cardinals, his is ability to paint pictures and tell stories about a wide variety of subject matter is truly remarkable.
Each of these 20 takes were cut directly to their own individual 7" vinyl record, and only one copy of each take exists in the world.
Our limited edition lathe cut record releases are made on a modified antique record cutting lathe from the 1950's. Each record is handmade, one at a time, in real time, by a real person.
