The amazing Vilray swung through our office to log the 52nd Direct-To-Vinyl Office Session. Vilray draws inspiration from 30s and 40s era swing, country and jazz, and his ability to write and perform in that style is really remarkable. A pretty special session....
For his session we cut just 15 different records, 10 originals and 4 covers. With the exception of one take 2 in the bunch, all of these records contain the first and only take of the song. And only one copy of each was made.
Our limited edition lathe cut record releases are made on a modified antique record cutting lathe from the 1950's. Each record is handmade, one at a time, in real time, by a real person.
